To find the additional horsepower, one should typically increase that number and then observe how it affects the time it takes to reach the measured value.
There's also a simpler way. In EXCEL, there's a function called 'Goal Seek' (Menu: Tools -> Goal Seek). Open it and, in the 'Set cell' row, select the cell containing the seconds. In the 'Set value' row, enter the measured time, for example, 5.5. In the 'By changing cell' row, select the cell containing the performance value. Click 'OK', and it will instantly calculate the performance value corresponding to the measured time.
