Hello everyone,
I would like to "dechip" or at least slightly modify my AJM engine (manufactured in 1999) to reduce soot emissions. I've checked the usual suspects like the AGR valve, mass airflow sensor, and for any leaks, so I suspect the chip tuning is the cause.
Do I need to go directly to Digi-Tec to have this changed, or could an experienced mechanic with the appropriate VCDS knowledge reduce the fuel injection amount and turbo boost a bit?
Is there anyone here in this forum?
Thank you very much!
Stefan.
P.S.: It has a Digi-Tec chip that boosts the power to 140 horsepower with 340 Nm of torque. |

For that, you need proper chip tuning equipment (both hardware and software).
However, anyone who has the necessary equipment and expertise can do it; that is, they can modify the software itself, rather than simply copying purchased tuning files into the customer's system. Gruß Ulf

It could even become more complicated.
Digi-Tec occasionally uses copy protection sockets.
Then the only solution is to solder it. Touran 5T1 / DFGA / TGV; Fabia 6Y5 / BNV / GGV |

Reduce the voltage of the control signal in ->Motor Electronics -> Channel 1.
Then it makes a little less noise. And finally, there's the turbo... |

Hmm, I think I've seen this problem before.
Mine is also chipped by Digi-tech, and when you accelerate from the bottom end, it sounds like an old Russian steam locomotive.
In that case, they're really messing things up, to put it bluntly. |

Adjusting voltage for the AJM regulator?
There's nothing like it. Transparency, Teamwork
... there was another T.
I don't know what the f*ck it was. |

@ ReneASZFR : My chip is from the year 2000. I thought that they had already made some improvements there .
The chip was definitely removed and soldered in, but I don't know if Digi-Tec cleverly included a socket during the process...
However, with VCDS, it is possible to influence the fuel injection amount and turbo boost to a certain extent. There's also something called OBD tuning. Am I mistaken? Maybe that would be enough.
OBD brake-in...
Thank you very much.

The LD value cannot be changed on any TDI engine using VCDS.

Nope, remove the ECU and solder it. -> It should be the person who installed it in the first place who does this, for warranty reasons.

Okay - I'm convinced. That's exactly why I wanted to avoid the long distances to Digi-Tec.
Thank you for the information!
