Hello, it seems the shut-off valve on my Mercedes is finally failing... where is it located? I'm familiar with Bosch injection pumps where this component is integrated, but apparently not on the Mercedes. A (somewhat cursory) look at the diesel lines hasn't shed any light on the issue yet...

Do you mean the round vacuum chamber on the back of the pump? Or the manual shut-off lever? (You can see it between the fuel injection lines, right on top of the pump.)

I mean that component, which cuts off the diesel supply when I turn the key... because that's not happening anymore! icon_wink.gif
Okay, so the 190 series uses vacuum control instead of electric control... I'll take a look at the canister and related components.

Hi,
It's usually not the can itself that's the problem, but rather a leak in the system.
For example, with the headlight low beam range control (LWR). In my case, the LWR setting always had to be at 0.
so that the engine turned off icon_wink.gif.
Best regards, Rod.
