Hi.

I just read a topic in the Passat 3B forum. That would be amazing: installing a mass airflow sensor (MAF sensor) from a Mercedes-Benz for 70 euros in the Passat. Visually, the parts are completely identical; you would just need to find out which Mercedes MAF sensor is closest to the VW part in terms of its measurement values. icon_wink.gif

Best regards, Claus icon_twisted.gif

Hello Claus,
It wouldn't surprise me. Mercedes-Benz already has a reputation for making money with its cars and selling spare parts at cost.
Most likely, the parts also come from Pierburg and even have the same connector configuration (at least if you can trust a post on the Passat forum).

Observe the situation for a while longer. Maybe eventually there will be a cross-reference between Benz and VAG.

Best regards, Rudi.

Yes, yes, news like that spreads quickly...
It seems that's not correct. Part number 611 094 00 48 at DC is a mass airflow sensor (MAF) from Pierburg, not from Bosch. I just went to DC, and unfortunately, they didn't have one that I could have looked at.

Best regards,
Ronny.

Some TDI models use Pierburg mass airflow sensors.
And with diesel engines, the readings from the mass airflow sensor are really irrelevant anyway.
Well, I think it will work out somehow.
The device has too much power and is smoking.
It has insufficient power.
or just some kind of emergency program.

The question is simply whether the oil cooler will physically fit in the space where the Bosch mass airflow sensor is located.

Best regards,
Ronny.

The problem has been solved.

It works! / It's working! / It's on!

And what about other parts, such as fuel injectors?

Hello.

However, it seems that this only applies to the new generation of LMMs (linear motor modules), which are installed as inserts within the LMM tube and are fastened with screws.

Older Pierburg mass airflow sensors (like the one in my tractor icon_sad.gif) cannot be disassembled without destroying them. Does anyone know if it's possible to use "suitable, cheap DC parts" instead icon_question.gif?

I just noticed that too!

I'm going to visit a VW dealership tomorrow to see if they sell that 'holder tube' separately. It probably doesn't cost a fortune!

Regards,

Manuel.

Okay, according to my research, this Daimler part is also used in the AWX machine, and I believe it's also used in the other PD models.

In my AWX, the original part number is F 00c 2G2 027. And that's the exact part that users on the Passat3b forum have installed on various other MKBs. When I have more time, I'll go to DV and get one of those, and then I'll test it! icon_biggrin.gif
