Hi, I'm having another small problem with my car. It's a 2.5 TDI with engine code AKE, 132 kW, manufactured in 1999, with 205,000 km on the odometer (timing chain and head gasket replaced at 160,000 km, and ESP replaced at 200,000 km).
So, the problem is that today, while driving to Hamburg with a trailer attached, about 200 km from my location, I noticed a loss of power. My car was only going 70 km/h, whereas it usually goes 100 km/h with a trailer (regardless of gear, RPM, or how much I pressed the accelerator on a straight road). I turned the car off, and everything went back to normal. This happened two more times on the way home, and when I drove without the trailer, everything was normal again. I then scanned for error codes, and there was one: 00575, intake manifold pressure.Okay, I have to mention that I already read out this error code about two weeks ago, but I didn't really assign any significance to it because everything seemed normal with my car. Now, the error description includes "intake-side leaks/blockages," "manifold pressure sensor," "mass airflow sensor," "boost control valve/regulating valve," "swapped hoses," "not connected," and "wiring harness." Yes, that's quite a list. Where would you suggest I start looking, or which parts would you recommend replacing? My guess would be LMM, or is that more likely to be ruled out?

You are repeating yourself!
Apart from that, I would start by performing a manual test of the VTG (Variable Transmission Gear) by operating it by hand to see if it moves smoothly and easily, meaning only against the spring force. Gruß Christian

I would also suspect the VTG (Variable Transmission Gear) or its control system. Is the intake manifold pressure too high (or am I assuming that) or too low? A4 Avant 2,5 tdi 110kw; AFB; BJ2000

VTG is willing to accept some damage if foreign objects make their way through the VTG system. In a cold state, the adjustment mechanism may function properly, but in a hot state, it may become stuck.

Okay, thanks for your replies. So, regarding my current situation, the Vtg (variable turbo geometry) is working (both hot and cold), the boost pressure is normal after the log drive, and the error code hasn't reappeared since. I think I'll probably replace the boost pressure control valve! What do you think?

That's your money, whether it was your fault or not is uncertain. Gruß Christian

Okay, so I've now replaced the boost control valve! Everything seems great so far, I think that was the problem!
