EDC Error Entry: How Long Does It Take?

Hello everyone.

Error entries in the engine control unit (ECU) are categorized as either permanent or intermittent.

However, the EDC doesn't always react "immediately" to defects, but rather only when the error has occurred for a certain period of time.
So, after a short engine test with the NBF disconnected, I did not find any corresponding error entries .

Several other previous posts also report clear issues such as stuttering, etc., without any error messages.

Does anyone know what error duration (possibly categorized by error type) is required before the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) will write something to the error memory?

The fault reaction time is controlled via characteristic curves within the control unit and is handled differently for virtually every type of fault.
