Hello diesel mechanics.

Speedbuster's tuning boxes are not exactly the best.
After three weeks, I started experiencing the first problems, and also had to adjust a new setting.
It didn't help.
My friend's gearbox also failed, and we've been driving for a week now.
with a 10-cent tuning, but slightly modified.
We've configured it so that the 10-cent tuning only activates when the accelerator pedal is fully depressed (or partially, which can be adjusted). However, this also has a disadvantage: now five wires need to be connected, four of which are on the pump connector, and only one needs to be taken from the control unit or the accelerator pedal. Additionally, a few more components are required (including a circuit board for 5 euros).
However, it also has a significant advantage, especially when you want to overtake, because you don't have to activate a switch first. And when you're driving normally, the '10-cent tuning' feature is automatically disabled.
We initially thought it would connect immediately, but that wasn't the case.
In terms of acceleration, the '10 Cent Tuning' isn't any worse than using a tuning box.
The recorded times were the same.
Golf 4 with 90 horsepower: acceleration from 2000 to 4000 RPM takes 6.3 seconds.
Without the 9.2 seconds.

Regards, SchwarzerGolf.

Hi.

I guess you're tapping into the pedal sensor voltage with a comparator circuit to enable the tuning feature when the pedal is pressed beyond a certain point.

To the best of my knowledge (some?) Speedbuster boxes also do exactly that, and additionally incorporate the mass airflow sensor (MAF) signal.
Accordingly, you would have "reinvented" the Speedbuster box "almost completely" icon_biggrin.gif.

Hello.
Speedbusters only intercept the signal from the lambda sensor; the position of the accelerator pedal is not taken into account if the device is installed at the fuel pump connector.
They only used a simple voltage divider circuit for the throttle position sensor (two resistors between plus and minus).
If the box is soldered to the control unit, then it also taps into the control signal for the accelerator pedal position. However, I don't think many people installed the box directly on the control unit; they probably connected it to the pump connector instead.

Hi,
Could you please email me a wiring diagram and the connection points (cables)? Please send it to: tdi-gurker@gmx.de

How does the circuit behave when the pedal is in the shifting range? Does it cause speed fluctuations, or can each speed be maintained consistently?
Best regards and thank you.

Eike.
