VW Passat: Check ALG NW Control Unit (3B5)

Hi everyone, I have a question about my Passat 3B5 with a V6 engine (MKB ALG). It has absolutely no power. The mass airflow sensor is new, and the swirl flap control system works during the actuator diagnosis. I then manually locked it and drove it, but nothing changed. My question is: Can I use VCDS to check if the Nockwell sensors are working correctly, and whether the valve timings are correct (I once read somewhere that they are often not installed properly, but I can't find the article anymore). Hopefully, someone can provide some answers. Thanks, Jürgen.
P.S. I know this isn't a racing car engine, but it should really be able to go over 180 mph, right? It actually does pretty well up to that point.
