Hello everyone,

I'm currently sitting in my girlfriend's 1989 Volkswagen Golf and I'm at my wit's end... We gave the car a new engine: an AFN from a 1998 Seat Ibiza 6K.

Unfortunately, the immobilizer control unit went missing during the renovation phase. We quickly bought a new one. However, I haven't been able to program it.

I have also searched this forum and others, but I haven't found any instructions on how to reset the immobilizer.

VAG Com version 311 is available and licensed/activated. I would like to update to a newer version; is there a guide for this? I only borrowed the VAG Com, so it would be great if I could also explain to the friend how to perform an update icon_wink.gif.

Here is some device information:
Engine control unit:
VAG-COM Version: DRV 311.3-S

Control unit part number: 028 906 021 EK.
Component and/or version: 1.9L R4 EDC G00SG 1438.
Encoding: 00002
Workshop code: WSC 01319.

2 error codes found.
17978 - Engine control unit locked.
P1570 - 35-00 - -
00741 - Brake pedal monitoring.
27-00 - implausible signal (I still need to connect icon_wink.gif).

Immobilizer control unit:
VAG-COM Version: DRV 311.3-S

Control unit part number: 6H0 953 257
Part and/or version: IMMO VWZ3Z0V6154047 V64.
Encoding: 09600
Workshop code: WSC 00000

2 error codes found.
01176 - Key
07-00 - Signal too weak.
01176 - Key
65-10 - unauthorized - occasional.

Can someone perhaps help me and tell me what I need to do to make it work?

Please provide the license details; I'd like to have a laugh. icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif

As long as they are missing, this is the end for now. icon_rolleyes.gif

Okay, so that's it, end of the line.

Contacting the VCDS distributor would have been helpful in case of a valid license.
