Hello,
I don't know if it's still current... To trigger a fault in the immobilizer system, you simply need to attempt to start the vehicle with an unauthorized key.
This is relatively simple: Open your car key. Inside, you'll find the batteries for the remote control or the 'searchlight,' possibly the remote control's electronics, and a small 'tube.' This tube is the counterpart to the immobilizer. If you remove the 'tube' from the key and try to start the car, the immobilizer should also prevent it from starting.
As far as I know, as an emergency procedure, you can also simply disconnect the car battery for a few minutes. After that, the immobilizer should also allow another restart attempt. That's what a friend of mine does with his Golf 3, where the immobilizer also malfunctions constantly: The engine starts cleanly but is then shut off again after 1 second... However, whether that applies to your vehicle is another matter... No idea!
Regards,
Private.
