I read a review today about the revised 2.5 V6 TDI engine.
This one already meets Euro IV standards.
The redesigned common rail injection pump now achieves over 2,000 bar.
To the best of my knowledge, this is a record for VP.
Cooled, digitally controlled exhaust gas recirculation and roller rocker arms are...
Only the most significant changes.
Not bad, I say[img][/img].
What do you think?
Or will it be surpassed by the new 2.5 R5 PD with VTG?http://home.t-online.de/home/bullitt667/smilies/data/uglyspitze.gif{MARKER}
I must also say that I was surprised when I read about the new 2.5 V6 engine with Euro 4 emissions standards.
This once again highlights the Volkswagen Group's leading expertise in diesel technology.
Regarding the R5 PD: it's probably less about which injection system is inherently better. This engine is narrower in width and also shorter in length due to the gear drive for the camshaft.
It's simply not easy to fit a V6 engine horizontally into a T5 bus or a Golf 5. The 6-cylinder gasoline engines are still VR engines (even though they no longer have that name), and therefore more compact than the V6 TDI.
I see the V6 engine more as a foundation for the larger and more powerful TDI engines, specifically the 3.0 V6, 3.3, and 4.0 V8 models.
What exactly is 'digitally controlled AGR'? The EGR valve is already controlled by the engine control unit.
Or are the previous Bosch EDC analog computers ?
Okay, here's the translation:
'But I have a question for the ESP and diesel tuning specialists: Could this potentially open the door to heavily modified 1.9 TDI engines with a new VP44 pump (if it's used in the V6) and 2000 bar injectors?'

But a question for the ESP and diesel tuning specialists: Could this perhaps open the way for extremely modified 1.9 TDI engines with a new VP44 (if it's used in the V6) and 2000 bar injectors?
Regarding point 1: I believe we've already discussed this topic.
Regarding point 2: The 1.9 engine lacks 2 cylinders compared to the other option.
