Hello everyone,

I'd like to discuss the boost pressure curve of my Skoda Superb, model code BSS, here.
It was modified by the previous owner in the Allgäu region. Does the "Tunig" need to be removed and replaced with something proper (like "Rainer"?), or is the overboost still acceptable?

Why is the LD overswing so constant at 2600 mbar? Does the measurement range of the LD sensor end there?

Greetings from the Breisgau region,
Georg.

Hi,

Unfortunately, the display range for the target LD pressure reading on your device ends at 2600 mbar. If you interpolate the data, the peak value appears to be around 2700 mbar. That's too complicated for me personally, and besides, it's totally pointless. If you want to enjoy the engine for a long time, I would have it removed.

It's also undesirable that the following pressure drop of 100 mbar occurs at a slightly above 2400 mbar level. At least, it shows that this boost pressure would, in principle, be sufficient to achieve the desired power output (not considering exhaust temperature, which depends on the injection amount, and which we don't know precisely here). icon_lol.gif

It should be noted, in fairness, that the observed single-point image could also be a result of difficulty in adjusting the VTG (vertical tracking generator), and not necessarily a consequence of poor alignment.

Best regards, Rainer.
