TDI Tuning: AFN Engine Optimization

Hello,

I want to have my TDI (AFN) tuned.
Since wendland-tuning is located near me and they are also known as a reputable tuning company, I'll have them do the chip tuning.

My question:

What other tuning options are available for the AFN engine?
Are there any camshafts available for the AFN engine? I can't find any camshafts for the AFN or any other diesel engine from any tuner.

I suspect you come from the gasoline world, so let me add this: Modified camshafts are only necessary for a TDI engine when you want significantly more power (>= +40%) than the original. And with such extreme tuning, you'll also need to replace quite a few other parts. With a tuning level of around +20%, the camshaft is far from being a limiting factor.

With a TDI engine, a chip tuning (increasing boost pressure and fuel injection) can already unlock a significant amount of power. The next step would involve upgrading the fuel injectors, then the turbocharger, and only after that would things like the camshaft and related components need to be addressed.

Ah, that's how it is .

I used to drive a VR6, but I switched to a TDI, and I have to say I'm really impressed - I never thought the 110 horsepower would pull so well.

Okay, I'm going to forget about the camshaft for now.

With a chip tuning, I would probably reach around 140 horsepower (if everything goes well).
A little more would be nice, so I can get that VR6 feeling back.

So, other injectors plus a chip?

What is the price?
Where can I get them?

Regarding injector replacement and chip tuning:
Very few chip tuners offer this as a complete package. Most only sell their software (chip), which they simply copy and reproduce. A real adjustment tailored to the customer's vehicle (e.g., on a dynamometer) usually no longer takes place. If the vehicle is then taken to a dynamometer, it is often just for show.

Wendland has won the Diesel class five times in a row at the Tuner Grand-Prix in Hockenheim!
I believe that companies should not always be judged solely based on their online presence.
The Wendland brothers know what they're doing; they have better arguments (see above) for getting rid of their chips than most chip tuners with a "pretty" homepage.
That's my opinion.
