Hello DIY enthusiasts,
'My TDI suddenly stalled while starting from a standstill at the intersection and when I gave it full throttle today. After a few seconds, it started again. However, it's now running weakly and with a lack of power, especially below 2500 RPM.'
During the diagnostic check at the workshop, the following two errors were detected:
00527 Sensor for intake air temperature - G72.
Short circuit after positive terminal.
00519 Sensor for intake manifold pressure - G71.
Short circuit to ground.
I thought this clearly pointed to the combined pressure/temperature sensor in the intake manifold or its wiring. However, the mechanic said that a faulty turbocharger could also cause this error and the engine to stall. Shouldn't there be an error related to the intake manifold pressure difference in that case? What's a bit strange is that the engine stalled abruptly; surely the sensor itself couldn't be responsible for that, right?
How can I test the sensor to ensure it's functioning correctly? What are your thoughts on this?
