Oh, so he shouldn't drive into the "saturation" zone.
I could try adjusting the pump timing earlier initially, if "max. late" means 100% late.

By the way, the smoking I've been experiencing after starting the engine has disappeared with these temperatures.

Incorrect. It goes to 100% late, which means it's too early. The target "late" value is not being reached. It needs to be adjusted to be later. icon_wink.gif

When the VP44 PSG is operated in the basic setting mode, does it use the NHG (needle position sensor) or the crank angle sensor as a reference? I'm asking because in the log file, the actual value changes significantly when the NHG is disconnected, as indicated by the "without NHG" entry.
Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

"vg"

This is a common abbreviation for "very good" in German. It is often used in online forums and chat rooms.

I believe these are fixed values used to control the injection timing valve in the basic setting mode. In any case, the AKE I tested didn't seem to be affected by the defective NHG in the basic setting.

Hi,

I just tried adjusting the pump again.
The first time, I was quite off with "late," getting 5°nOT. I tried again, and now it's at 1.8°nOT.
The duty cycle hasn't changed; after some time in idle, it returns to 100.2.

Where does it actually say that he's not supposed to be there?
"Does the LBL file only contain the setpoint value of 0-100?"
Or is adjusting the pump such a delicate and intricate task?
1.8° should be okay...

Best regards, Steffen.

Before or after OT?

You only need to look at the target values for the start of injection during operation to answer your question about the control range!

I am currently getting 1.8°nOT in the warm state.
Do you mean that the differences between the desired and actual values are caused by the missing 0.2 degrees?

Hello,

Set point = what the control unit wants.
"Istwert" translates to "actual value" or "measured value," and it refers to the value that the system (STG) measures as the real value.

How does the engine control unit (ECU) achieve the desired result, using the TV (throttle valve) that you see in the measurement data block?

Just set it up so that the desired value is easily achieved, and that's it.

"LG" is an abbreviation for "Liebe Grüße," which means "Best regards" or "Best wishes" in English.

Yes, I probably know that.
Assuming I've adjusted it correctly and it's still showing 100.2% idle speed with a warmed-up engine, should I just leave it as is and not adjust it further?

Then you won't have any reserve for wear and tear.

Hmm, I guess I'll have to try again tomorrow, I'm on duty right now...
I'll set it up as best as I can and then measure it again.
I initially thought everything was okay, but apparently the water hadn't reached 90°C yet.

Sure, here's the translation:

"Hi there," or "Hello," or "Good morning."

I wanted to give some feedback.
I have now updated the software from version 0030 to version 0060.

The engine is now running smoothly at idle, with no more jerking or vibrations icon_smile.gif.
It runs smoothly and cleanly.
I was told that a bug in the initialization of the turbocharger pressure sensor in the 0060 model has also been fixed.

My aspect ratio seems to be correct as well.
It fluctuates within the range of approximately 60-85.

I haven't seen the current value displayed on the screen either.

There has been no change in the startup behavior regarding the idle values.
In the morning, cylinder 5 still starts with -3mg per injection, but then gradually adjusts to -0.3mg per injection after a certain time.

The update was performed using the Byteshooter tool in boot mode.

Maybe it will help someone someday.

Have a nice Sunday.

Best regards, Steffen.

I also just saw something strange related to the BDG...
Is it running in reverse, or what is it doing?
It was always idling, then briefly revved up to around 1500/2000 RPM.
After a short time, it returns to idle.

'A deviation of +-0.2 is acceptable when idling, but I'm surprised.'
Whenever you accelerate, the car veers in the opposite direction.
Initially, it was completely going in the wrong direction.
