Hello everyone in the forum community,

Our Golf 5+ (manufactured in 08/2007, engine code: BLS) is showing the following issue: When locking with the remote key fob, all doors except the driver's door lock (the red LED flashes). The driver's door can be opened, but when locking with the key, the driver's door also locks. When unlocking with the remote key fob, all doors unlock except the driver's door, which can be unlocked with the key. Additionally, the driver's side mirror adjustment is not working, while the passenger side mirror adjustment is working. The turn signals in the rearview mirror are not working (including the hazard lights). The fuel tank release works. The power windows work. The fuses SC 45 and SC 24 are both okay. Everything points to the door control module (J386) as the source of the problem. A diagnostic scan revealed: "J386 Door control module: Voltage below the permissible limit." There are no other error messages. The operating voltage is showing as 12.5 volts.
A very kind employee from our "Friendly" department then helped me further.

Translation:
Problem: The rt/ge +12V cable from fuse SC 24 near the rubber grommet on the driver's side door was almost/completely broken! (only one strand of wire remained intact). This was in a car only 4 years old! The 12.5 volts indicated are from fuse SC 45. SC 45 is equipped with a 30A fuse (2.5mm²), while SC 24 is equipped with a 10A fuse (0.5mm²). Both supply J386. Therefore, it is essential to measure both voltages at J386.

I wrote this post to save other forum members from having to spend a long time troubleshooting.

Best regards,

tdi-erwin
