Hello,
Now, it's happened to us too, our AFN

is no longer working.
The following happens:
At approximately 50 km/h, the engine suddenly cut out without any warning. It was no longer possible to start the engine with the sound of a ticking noise in the background.
ADAC's initial assumption was ZR, but he checked immediately and found nothing; it's stuck and looks great. So, the car was towed.
I first removed the valve cover, and sure enough, three hydraulic lifters had dissolved and their contents were distributed. Okay, keep your head down...
The engine wouldn't turn over to top dead center; something was jammed. It would crank over with the starter, but wouldn't rotate freely when forced.
The timing belt was properly installed and tensioned, the crankshaft pulley bolt is tight, and the water pump pulley bolt is also tight.
After removing the cylinder head, it was evident that all the valves had contacted the pistons, and the camshaft sprocket appeared to have spun forcefully on the camshaft (possibly due to the camshaft being blocked by a faulty hydraulic lifter?). I can't imagine it any other way.
But what do I do now?
Would it be too bold to simply create a completely new product from scratch?
Should all the pistons be replaced, including the connecting rods and bearings?
Here are a few more pictures to illustrate

.
Sure, no problem!
Phil.
