Hello everyone,
A post was just made in my forum, and I'm wondering if anyone has any information or insights about this case.
Hello everyone,
I had an engine failure in my Audi A6, manufactured in 10/98, with 111,000 kilometers on the odometer. The oil warning light started flashing while I was driving on the highway. I had it towed to the nearest Audi service center. They changed the oil there, and after a test drive, the mechanic said I could continue driving.
After driving another 200 kilometers, the light blinked again. I had the car towed again, and even at the next workshop, they couldn't find any errors after 1.5 hours, leading them to believe that the oil level indicator might be defective. When I got home, I took the car to a different workshop. There, they discovered that the oil pressure drops when the engine gets hot. Now, they are recommending replacing the engine, as even replacing the oil pump didn't improve the situation. I believe the workshops that allowed me to continue driving bear some responsibility. What is your opinion?

No, because there's a huge amount of missing information. Furthermore, I wonder why the driver didn't even bother to check the oil level himself. |
