The new turbocharger, with the Garrett part number 454232-6, exhibits the same symptom...
No turbo boost at low RPMs, and the engine is overheating (coolant temperature).
The old turbo had the number: 454232-2.
I also tried a turbo with the number 454232-10. Again, there was no boost pressure, etc.
The only difference you can see is that my old Turbo VNT15 has the code GA3, while the two new Turbos have the code GT1749V GA4. Everything else is the same...
I don't understand... I then shortened the rod from the vacuum sensor by 3-4mm -> still no boost pressure at the bottom end... of course, there's too much boost pressure at the top end.
"This Friday, I will be cleaning up my old VTG (Variable Turbine Geometry) housing and installing it into the exhaust housing of the new turbo. I will most likely be installing my old VNT15 turbocharger."
Possibly, the old loader wasn't what was indicated on the compressor housing, because that can easily be replaced, but it might have already been a cobbled-together solution...
