Greetings from the far north.
Here's a brief introduction: I've been a mechanic for over 25 years, and in my free time, I mainly work on restoring and modifying VW T1 buses. Professionally, my career has led me to work with buses, specifically those equipped with Iveco engines.
So, I'm a little bit of an expert in the field.
My everyday car recently spilled its entire oil supply all over the engine compartment.
It's a 1995 Audi Cabrio B5 with a 1Z engine.
Now, I wanted to install a new engine, preferably one with 110 horsepower.
The old engine had some acceleration jerks, which I attributed to a worn-out ESP (Electronic Stability Program).
I understand that I need to implant everything, including the control unit, but I don't want to proceed blindly without knowing what to expect.
My engine control unit still has a boost pressure connection, and I don't want to modify my dashboard.
Could I, for example, take a 1999 A4 with, say, 110 horsepower and strip it for parts?
Surely, someone here has done something like this before.
My search in the forum didn't get me any further after an hour.
Maybe something like that already exists here.
Thank you, Arne.
