I'm going to bring a GPS device with me and then see what information it provides. GPS isn't 100% accurate either, but it's certainly more precise.

Here are some specifications for the T5 with different engine options.
If you can drive with GPS for a few minutes without interruption, it will become very accurate.

As a general rule of thumb, for the T5, you can estimate the achievable top speed in km/h as follows:
Take the cube root of the horsepower, then multiply the result by 33.
Example: 174 horsepower, the cube root of that is 5.583. Multiplying that by 33 gives 184.24 km/h.
VW states the power output as 174 hp and the top speed as 184 km/h.
