A4 8E Oil Pan Removal: Guide & Instructions

Hello forum!
Has anyone ever gone through the trouble of removing the oil pan on an A4 B6/B7?
I'm now facing the task of replacing the drive mechanism of the balance shaft module (as mentioned in a previous post of mine).
It's often said: "Lift the engine up, lower the front axle carrier ".
Has anyone ever done this before? Is it feasible to do this on-site?
Please help me!!!

I think so. However, you should jack up the vehicle sufficiently to create enough space underneath, on both the left and right sides, for the removal and installation.

It works the same way as it does on the Passat 3B/3BG.

Loosen the screws on the front axle carrier, then lower it.
Loosen the gearbox mounting, which will create pivot points in the two side engine mounts. To prevent damage to the mounts, the nuts on these can also be loosened.

Then, using a workshop crane (or possibly another method), lift the engine from the front.
