Hello,

I'm currently looking for the PR codes for the braking system for our Octavia II. The service plan only lists the additional equipment on the sticker, but I need to find out which PR codes apply to the brakes for the front and rear.

Where can I get this information? Probably only available from the original manufacturer, VW?

Greetings.
Georg.

Hello,

The sticker should contain all PR codes. See also http://shop.dieselschrauber.de/download/VCDS-Handbuch.pdf Chapter 29.

Could you please post a picture of your sticker (with the VIN number blacked out)?

Best regards, Rainer.

Really?

I have a 4-5 page document for each of my cars that contains all the codes.
That's already "quite a few" more than what's indicated on the label.

Unfortunately, I don't have the sticker photo readily available right now due to the distance, but I can definitely confirm that the brake codes are not included. In my parts system, they are listed, but they are definitely not to be found on the PR sticker.

Next to the sticker, there is only the text "Additional equipment." According to the PR-Code-Finder, these are all the extras that the device has, starting from the base version.

I think that if I go to a Skoda dealer and provide the vehicle identification number (VIN), they should be able to tell me what equipment was installed in that vehicle, right?

According to my catalog, there are two types of front brake rotors: 280mm and 288mm. For the rear brakes, there are 256mm, 260mm, and 280mm options.

I'm leaning towards a combination of 280/256mm rotors front and rear. As far as I know, 288mm brakes already require 16" wheels, because 280mm were the largest brakes that would fit on my 4x4 and still work with 15" wheels in the winter. And the new one has 15-inch wheels for the winter.

I believe that 288mm brakes require at least 16" rims, right?
In the Passat 3B/3BG, they are fitted with 15" rims on the front.

Bye.

That's correct, it's not different with the Golf platform, and definitely, 15" rims fit over the 288mm brakes.

That's a 4x4. Don't they essentially only have a single option for the rear axle?

"That's how it was with mine; there were 232mm for the front-wheel drive version, 239mm for the all-wheel drive version, and 256mm for the RS version..."

In this case, I found at least three different systems for the 4x4 listed in the Trost documentation... 256/260/280mm.

Ordering on risk is not an option, as I will only have the car for one day.
