Do the MJ12 Audis still have CR (Common Rail) engines?
possibly only version 3.0, but not version 2.0 anymore?

At least, that's what it says in the current A6 brochure.

Skoda Service Training 80 - TDI CR 2nd Generation
Quote:
Piezo injectors, maximum 6 injections per cycle.
Magnet injectors, maximum 7 injections per cycle
.

I cannot say whether the engines are now being used in a different way, and whether the total injection time has increased by more than 1/6.

Maybe training materials aren't meant to tell employees, "Hey, we've made something cheaper again, and worse – great, right?"

We will never know for sure. Anyone interested in the documents can feel free to contact me via private message. I'm just sharing what I've read.

Well, is the solenoid valve now worse?
There used to be ceramic glow plugs, but they've disappeared from the market again...

Regarding the 2.0L CR-TDI engines of the "second generation," it's also important to note that they no longer have a variable intake manifold.
The AGR cooler module is the same as the one used in the 1.6-liter engine with the N18, located at the rear and routed through the cylinder head.
And the oil pump, which is driven by a timing belt.

I did some research:

The CFFB (a 140 hp mass-produced engine in VW vehicles) and the CGLC/D (a 177 hp engine in the A6) have the same injectors... so they are all solenoid-type injectors.

Hi everyone,

It all depends on the technology within the injector. The older, indirectly controlled solenoid injectors can perform up to two pre-injections and one post-injection. Piezo injectors, at least those from Bosch, also indirectly controlled, can perform up to five pre-injections and two post-injections. Modern solenoid injectors work directly on the nozzle needle and are therefore just as fast as piezo injectors, but unlike piezo injectors, they have a defined zero position and are cheaper to manufacture. They are also more robust and, as far as I know, do not require the same complex hydraulic systems as piezo injectors.

Smoky greetings.
Peter.
