Hello,

I would like to replace my front windshield wipers with the new Aero system because my old ones wear out prematurely (the windshield is relatively new, and the angle is correct).

The friendly people explained to me, and I wouldn't have expected anything different, that this was not possible.
Therefore, I'm wondering if anyone has done this before and can tell me which parts need to be replaced.

Sure, I need new windshield wiper blades and new wiper arms. However, AKTE offers two different versions of wiper arms for left-hand drive vehicles: one for vehicles with a chassis number up to.....000, and another for vehicles after ....001. Which wiper arms do I need?

And, more importantly:
Can I attach the new arms to my old axles, or do I also need to replace the wiper mechanism?

AKTE uses the same part number for the wiper mechanism in newer vehicles, but with the 'B' version instead of the 'A' version, which is what my vehicle uses.

The arms cost around 40 EUR, and I would consider that worth the conversion. However, the mechanics underneath cost another approximately 60 EUR, which would be less appealing.

So, if anyone knows whether the new arms fit the old axles, or has experience with a similar conversion, I would be very grateful for any information.

Until then, best regards from the north...

Yes, that's exactly the information I needed. It's already been modified and is working.
The wiper arms now have a 'C' instead of a 'B' at the end of the part number, likely indicating a different manufacturer. However, they work perfectly well with the 'C' parts.

Thank you very much for the information icon_biggrin.gif.

Hello!

The idea of using different wiper arms sounds good, and they also look quite okay.
Does anyone know if these seat covers are also suitable for an A6 model from 1998?
If so, what are the part numbers for those items?

Thank you for the Euro information!

DENNIS
