A4 B7 ECU Not Responding: Troubleshooting Guide

I would like to read the error codes from an A4 B7.
Unfortunately, neither the engine control unit nor the brake control unit is responding, while all other control units are working fine.

Which version of VCDS are you using? As far as I know, it only works with the KKL+CAN interface.

Hello, I must admit I only have the Micro-CAN and a self-soldered K-line. The A4 has Xenon headlights and was manufactured in 2006. Would I need to connect the Micro-CAN to the engine control unit? Can this be done with VCDS-Lite, or do I need the KKL+CAN interface? Thanks and regards, TTaurus.
