T5 GP RPK nachgerüstet, Codierungsprobleme - Gelöst | Posts 16+

Hello!

In recent weeks, I haven't had much time to delve back into the history of this topic. Now, I've compared the control units from vehicles of roughly the same production year, and even found some that had the same software versions for both the ABS/ESP control unit and the instrument cluster, some with RPK (presumably a specific feature) and some without. The control units have the same serial numbers and software versions, and the coding procedure I was recommended worked perfectly, which is what I expected. However, I'm still stuck with my T5. It won't code, and I can't figure out why.

The RPK control lamp does not illuminate on the instrument cluster, there are no error messages recorded, and the lines have been checked and measured for functionality.

What did I overlook, where might I have thought incorrectly, or taken the wrong approach to solving the problem?

Is it possible that something needs to be "coded in" somewhere to trick the ABS/ESP or AI into thinking something exists when it actually doesn't, in order to enable certain functions?

Today, I was able to confirm that retrofitting the RPK (Rear Power Kit) on a T5 is not really a problem if you have the correct coding.

In byte 12, bit 4 needs to be changed from 0 to 1, and that's all. Even the AI doesn't need to be re-encoded; it will work fine as is.

Therefore, the encoding is as follows:
