Hello,

I have retrofitted a used trailer hitch with a specific electrical kit.
The lighting for the trailer works, and I was also able to deactivate the parking sensors using VCDS. Unfortunately, the trailer module is not properly registered, and there are errors in the braking electronics...
can someone please help me

Hello Herbert!

Actually, it's just the parking brake for trailer operation, which also works.
I wanted to add the value 16384 to the encoding in the brake electronics, as indicated in the note.
but the value was not accepted.
Otherwise nothing, unfortunately, there is no description for coding in the E-sentence.

As a general rule, a newly added control unit must be activated in the gateway's list (address 19) (check the box).

This is clearly missing here, which is also why it was not detected in the initial car scan.

Just for clarity: The AHK entry appears in the Steuergeräte (control units) for engine, central electrical system, braking electronics, and diagnostics on the A4. This will likely be similar on the A6. Probably, the entries are simply missing, which is why the specific errors occur (excluding MSG).
First, disconnect the tow hitch control unit to clear all errors, then reconnect the tow hitch control unit and register it. So you can see which errors reappear.

Hello everyone, it worked...in the central electrics, the checkmark for trailer lights was missing, and in the braking electronics, the proposed value (0016384) was added to the existing code.
