Hello everyone,

I bought an Audi A4, model year 2005, with a DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) and a 3.0 TDI engine producing 204 horsepower, some time ago. MKB: BKN

The car now has 264,000 kilometers on the odometer.

I've noticed that it occasionally smokes when running at partial load. The smoke comes in bursts, and then stops. But it happens from time to time. When running at full load or when idling, everything is fine.

Water or oil consumption could not be determined.

Otherwise, it drives normally, has full power, and there are no strange noises, etc.

Is an injector failure suspected?

I once logged everything for everyone.

Cylinder 1: -20...-16...-5
Cylinder 2: -15...-9...-3
Cylinder 3: -4...0...0
Cylinder 4: -30.......-13........-6
Cylinder 5 3.........0............1
Cylinder 6: -4...-7...-2

Cylinder 1 and 4 are likely to be the ones causing the problem.

Ash content is 043. A maximum of 052 is allowed.
Differential pressure: maximum 300 mbar at full load.

What could that be?

Okay, try unplugging the mass airflow sensor (MAF sensor) and drive around for 100-200 kilometers. Let me know if the smoking continues.

Okay, I'll try.

Could the LLM also be logging data, or not?

Today, he hasn't smoked even once, not even a little bit, and I've been watching the rearview mirror the whole time. icon_eek.gif

It's not necessarily about the mass airflow sensor (MAF) itself, but rather what disconnecting it causes.
Normally, you can drive 500-600 km before the engine check light comes on, and even then, it won't go into limp mode.
Try it.
