Hello,
I'm completely overwhelmed.
I am constantly experiencing coolant loss. More so at high speeds on the highway, compared to when I am driving slowly. The temperature is at 90 degrees, and the oil is below 100 degrees Celsius. It seems to be dripping from the expansion tank. I can see G12 coolant on the oil filter and in the bottom of the pan. There is no oil in the water, no water in the oil, no loss of power, and no smoke from the exhaust. All hoses are tight, and nothing is bubbling out of the expansion tank when it is running. Initially, it seemed like the valve in the cap was broken, so I replaced the cap. However, the loss continued, and I replaced the entire expansion tank. Still, the loss persists! Over a distance of approximately 100 km, I lose at least a half liter (from maximum to minimum in the coolant reservoir). This is roughly half the coolant fluid when driving at a speed of around 100 km/h.
Now I've been to three different Audi workshops and ATU, but it's still not getting better, and they don't know what's wrong either. There's also nothing indicating a faulty thermostat. And, for the sake of replacing them on suspicion (then also replace the timing belt and water pump when everything is already done), at least 700 Euros will go down the drain!
I don't know what else I can do, I rely on the car for my job, and I usually drive about 1000 km per week.
So far, the Audi has been running very reliably, technically sound, and has been regularly serviced and had its oil changed.
Thank you for your help.
Best regards, Micha
