Good morning.
Even after repeatedly resetting it via VCDS, I can't get my auxiliary heater in my Q7 (2009 model) to work permanently... so, I need a replacement.
Currently, a 4L0265105K is installed. Can I easily replace it with a 4L0265105R and simply have the component protection removed at Audi, or is the new 4L0265105R not compatible with my 2009 vehicle?
Thank you in advance!

Hi,
Why don't you just fix the auxiliary heater? It would probably be easier than experimenting with potentially suitable heaters...
And if the problem, for example, is due to leaky fuel lines, a new heater won't help at all.
Best regards, Rainer.

The error message is consistently "Fan short circuit to ground"... it could be the fan motor or the control unit. Therefore, I would rather invest directly in a used auxiliary heater with the identifier "R" (latest revision).
Everything is tight, but sometimes it also leaks.

As I suspected... The error code "blower motor short circuit to ground" has cleared. I actually ordered and installed a new blower motor.
And as previously suspected, it's the control unit . The same error. Does anyone have experience with the compatibility of the different revisions?
"Thank you."

Hi,
You could have someone check in the AKTE system to see which ones were installed in your model.
"Caution: Other revisions for different models may not work or may not function as expected, especially if the communication with the other control units is even slightly different. I strongly recommend obtaining an identical model, meaning one with the same VAG part number."
Best regards, Rainer.

The problem is that it's not easy to find an identical model . The K models are probably very rare....

I was just talking to my parts supplier, and he didn't have anything in stock.
to do - that's why I asked about that part).
If you currently want to buy a car from a dealership, you will receive...
The official replacement was an R. In between, there were also the letters M and P.
He didn't immediately see if this would require any other changes.
"You might be able to find one for around €1,000."

Wow, great! Thanks for the information. I guess I'll try using an R-model control unit and just have the component protection removed.
Thank you!

Okay, just to be complete... I've now installed the model 4L0265105R in my car, which is a 2008 model. After the component protection was removed at the Audi dealership, the auxiliary heater is working perfectly again.
Replacing the auxiliary heater with a newer revision is therefore possible without any problems.
