Hello,

I'm having a problem with a Passat from 1997, engine code: AFN. It stalled while driving. Initially, it didn't respond to the accelerator and then it shut off. I suspect the issue is related to the fuel supply.
No error codes are present, and the fuses and relays are in good condition. The diesel filter was recently replaced.
The search function didn't really yield any useful results.
Does anyone have any advice?

I would still like to disconnect the return line of the pump at the filter and try starting it briefly.
If there's no diesel fuel available, you know where to look...

And even a brand new filter can quickly become clogged due to summer diesel fuel that contains sulfur
