Since the last update of my diagnostic system VCDS,
"With version 20.4.2, I am unable to access the control unit 46 (Comfort System) in any vehicle."
Is anyone else experiencing this problem, or does anyone know why this is happening?

Hi.

Please initiate a full system scan.

Best regards, Rainer.

Hi Rainer, of course, I also tried that, but I haven't had any success. When I press "46 Comfort System," the program attempts to establish a connection, but it doesn't; instead, it goes back to the car scan results.
I've tried this on various VAG models, and I always get the same result: no connection.
Sure, here's the translation:

Sharan 7N 2011, Caddy 2014, T5 2007.
Is there any help available? I remember there used to be an option in menu item 46, "Comfort System," to re-pair the key so that the immobilizer would also recognize it. That's exactly what I need now, or do I have to take it to the dealership and have them do it?
Sincerely, Hasko1 icon_rolleyes.gif icon_redface.gif

There is an update available for VCDS. Please reinstall the latest installation package from your customer account.
Perhaps you had an intermediate version that I would have seen during the automatic scan.

Please post this.

Best regards, Rainer.

Hello Rainer, I have installed the VCDS software twice, and there has been no change. I am quite at a loss and hope for a tip from you. The version number of the VCDS program is 20.4.2.1. Is that the correct version, or is there an update available? Please find the log data attached. Best regards, Hasko1 I hope to receive a tip from you icon_idea.gif. Thank you in advance.

This vehicle has a "BCM PQ35" at address 09. That means there is no 46, despite the fact that 46 still exists in the GVL, presumably for compatibility and data-routing reasons.

The vehicles of the PQ35 platform have everything integrated into the control unit with address 09. Address 46 is only mentioned in the gateway installation list, presumably for compatibility reasons or for data routing.

Therefore, it is completely normal and has always been the same with other VCDS versions or the VAG workshop tester. icon_idea.gif

What's frustrating about this is that it also occurs to me afterwards, even though it's been going on for a while. icon_redface.gif

2009+ Golf/GTI/Jetta and similar models, no communication with control unit address 46 or 09.
Many vehicles from 2009 onwards integrate the addresses and functions of the comfort control unit (address 46) into the body control module (address 09). Therefore, access and configuration are performed via the body control module. Note that the vehicle must be unlocked and locked, and the ignition must be ON in order to gain access. This behavior is therefore normal.

Best regards, Rainer.
