Hello,
For some time now, it has been very difficult to engage first gear in my Golf.
You really have to push the gear knob firmly to the left to find the gate for first gear.
Today, I took a closer look at the issue. I thoroughly cleaned the shifting mechanism on the gearbox, and I couldn't find any loose screws.
The cable that controls the up-and-down movement (located on the knob on the left or right) connects to a lever at the gearbox, which is mounted in a bushing.
I find that this socket has a lot of play in it.
You can move the cable a few millimeters before the arm starts to move within the gearbox.
So, when I switch, a portion of the leftward movement in the game's storage is lost.
I'd like to know if you also experience such a significant fluctuation in your circuits at this point. Before I make any adjustments, I'd like to know if this is normal.
However, I wouldn't be surprised if these batteries failed after 300,000 kilometers.
Is the engagement mechanism, located on top of the gearbox, available as a separate replacement part, or does one have to replace the entire gearbox? Gruss Oliver.
