Replace Spark Plugs: DIY Guide & Tips

How do you handle replacing spark plugs? In my case, one out of six is faulty. All of them were replaced about 5 years ago and after approximately 110,000 kilometers (or miles).

Should I just replace the defective one, or should I replace them all at once? My gut feeling is that I should replace them all.

I would replace them all when the engine is hot.
However, it's unlikely that a glow plug will fail unless absolutely necessary; typically, this happens after around 150,000 kilometers.

Yes, in this case. And I installed Beru spark plugs.

If they all come loose, remove them and install new ones coated with ceramic paste.

It makes sense to periodically expand and verschandeln these components each year, so that the threads and shafts don't become clogged with oil residue, and to avoid unnecessary problems when disassembly is actually required.

If I'm not mistaken, I already used ceramic paste to install them back then.

You can do it if you're extremely bored.

It is important to replace a faulty glow plug quickly, before it becomes stuck in the cylinder head due to carbon buildup.

Also very important: Expansion of the cooling system when the engine is running hot!
