Hello everyone!
Unfortunately, I'm experiencing a similar problem with my Golf 7 1.4 TSI 122 HP. The error code is P2263, which indicates "Turbocharger Underboost." The EPC light and the emissions light are also illuminated. After that, we replaced the boost pressure regulator.
Now, I wanted to perform the initial adaptation, but I'm failing at that as well. I had the feeling that I needed to follow a specific order, thank you in advance for the information as described here!
My problem is that I need to know if the adaptation process, or all three steps in general, must be performed with the engine running? I can clear the error, but as soon as the engine is restarted, the error reappears immediately. |

Hello,
Was used, an original replacement part or a replica?
What does the repair manual say? Does the adjuster need to be mechanically pre-set?
Background:
Okay, I'm ready. Please provide the German text you want me to translate.

Hi Rainer!
So, an original part was installed.
Unfortunately, there's nothing you can adjust mechanically. I've taken a good look at this thing. |

Today, I tried the basic setting according to Dana (which is described in the link in my previous post). So, the throttle valve is working properly. In the second step, when checking the boost pressure sensor, the VCDS display shows "Completed (Timeout) - Aborted".
Step 3 was the same, and I stopped step 4 myself after 5 minutes.
The error reappears even after deleting it. This happens with both new and old parts. If I delete it, I hear a clicking sound (probably from the actuator) and the error reappears immediately.
The actuator test of the controller is working perfectly. However, whether he is using the correct values is another matter. |

Just so we can close this topic.
There are two types of servo motors, one with the suffix "F" and the other with the suffix "P" in the article number.
Pay attention to which one is actually needed. It's best to ask at a workshop.
On my Golf 7, I first installed the "F" stepper motor, and this resulted in the error described when using VCDS.
The "P" stepper motor was the correct one. Externally, the two can be distinguished as follows:
Q: The actuator for the wastegate valve is screwed onto the control rod.
P: The gripping element is firmly welded to the rod.
After that, the coding process went smoothly, and the car is running again. |

Hello everyone,
Due to the EPC light and the P2263 error, I also checked the linkage. It was very loose, and lubricating it helped for a while. Now I've replaced the turbocharger.
I'm also experiencing this issue during the initial setup, and I wanted to revisit the topic of the two different charger types: 04E198725F & P.
I have the 04e14 5704r turbocharger installed, so the 04E198725F should be compatible. It was also installed with a threaded rod.
I would like to perform the mechanical adjustment. However, when running the "Initial Adaptation - Turbocharger Pressure Control" function in VCDS, I am not seeing any actual/target values displayed. Is there a way to manually start the data recording?
"When I inquire with VW, they suggest the turbocharger 04E198725P (with a welded-on coupling) for my VIN. However, there's also another turbocharger, 04E145721R, listed in their system. Do you think the 04E198725P might still be compatible, even though it's not actually designed for the turbocharger that's currently installed?" With the welded coupling, a mechanical adjustment of the target position would also not be necessary.
What also surprises me is that the command IDE04325 (adjustment of end stops for the boost pressure control) does not appear in the basic functions of the engine electronics.
Thank you.
Best regards.
Marco. |
