The error code P2563, "Boost pressure control valve position sensor - implausible signal," is set when the position feedback from the boost pressure control valve is not within the expected range. Possible causes:
- Faulty electrical wiring/connections to the position sensor.
- Faulty boost pressure control valve (e.g., the vacuum sensor does not hold a vacuum, or an electric actuator like those found in 3.0 V6 TDI engines is mechanically or electrically defective).
- The turbocharger's wastegate is stuck or difficult to move (the actuator cannot properly adjust the valve).
- Engine control unit (ECU) defective (due to water ingress or similar).
