Hi,

Now that it is clear, as described in the technical article, that with a VEP-TDI engine, it is possible to replace the fuel injectors of a 66 or 81 kW TDI engine with a slightly larger version to achieve higher engine performance values.
I wonder if it's that "easy" with PDs as well?

Apart from the price and installation costs!

If so, that would certainly be an alternative to tuning boxes, etc.
Has anyone perhaps done something like that before?

Greetings.
Thomas.

Hello,

Apparently, neither the PD (Positive Displacement) elements nor the integrated nozzles are identical across all PD units, as there have always been ongoing developments. For example, the 'ks' nozzles in the ARL and AXR models improved flow and emission values.

frage ich mich, ob das bei den PD´s auch so 'einfach' geht?

Based on everything I've read so far, it's not possible to use different nozzles in a PD (positive displacement) element. This is probably because the nozzles are permanently bonded during manufacturing, or because only the original nozzle fits into each specific element. I'm also curious why they can't be replaced.

Even in descriptions of very expensive and complex tuning modifications for PD engines, there was never any mention of replacing the PD injectors. Other measures are likely to be significantly more cost-effective, considering the expense of replacing the PD injectors.

Greetings, Marcus.
