Hello everyone,
Is there a way to replace the seals on the PD elements?
To be reviewed without being expanded?
Is the LLRR (Leakage Location and Rate Ratio) a sufficient indicator for leaky PD (Partial Discharge) elements?
Best regards,

No, the only solution is to take it apart.
Best regards, Rainer.

Hello.
There is a way to check the O-rings, specifically when inspecting the tandem pump.
Coolant temperature: minimum 85 °C.
Connect the pressure gauge to the test port of the tandem pump.
- Increase the speed to 4000 RPM.
- Observe the pressure displayed on the pressure gauge.
Set point: minimum 7.5 bar.
If the target value is not reached:
- Clamp the return line between the fuel filter and the tandem pump using a hose clamp or pliers.
- Increase the speed to 4000 RPM.
- Observe the pressure displayed on the pressure gauge.
Set point: minimum 7.5 bar.
Is the target value being reached now?
Pressure loss in the pump-nozzle injectors.
- Replace the O-rings of the pump-injector units.
If the target value is not reached:
- Replace the tandem pump.
A leak can be detected internally in this way.

Hi,
Thank you for the response.
How reliable is this test?
Have you ever done this before?

Hello.
I've done this before. However, in my case, it was to test my insulin pump.
For reliability: Source VAG.

Hello, where can I get a pressure gauge like that, and what kind of connection does it have?

Hello,
For the VW Transporter T5 AXE (R5 TDI), it's a M12x1.5 connection. It might be the same for you, but I can't guarantee it!
I built the fitting myself: I connected it with a threaded fitting, a Festo hose, and a standard pressure gauge up to about 15 bar.
Best regards,
