Post10-05-2024, 12:16    Subject: Passat B7 FN3 brake, 16" to C60 17" conversion/reprogramming Quote

Vehicle year of manufacture: 2012.
Engine: 2.0 TDI, CFGB with 170 horsepower.
Brake electronics control unit: J104 TRW 450M C2 (3AA-614-109.CLB)
Current coding: 0003513

Can anyone tell me the specific part numbers for the two brake calipers, FN3 (16", PR-1ZM, 312x25) and C60 (17", PR-1LA, 340x30)?
Then I could convert the old encoding.

I have only found these values for an MK60 microcontroller.

+0000001 = FS III 54 15" (PR-1ZF/1ZM/1ZC)
+0000002 = FN III 54 15"/16" (PR-1ZE/1LJ/1ZP/1ZD/1LL)
+0000008 = FRNG 57 17" (PR-1LK)

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any information about the TRW 450M C2.

The brake system on the rear axle should also be converted. From CII 38 (16", load rating 1KW, 282x12) to CII 41 (17", load rating 2EA, 310x22). If this is needed for coding.

Hello,

Please perform another diagnostic scan of the vehicle.

Best regards, Rainer.

Could it be that the TRW 450M C2 ABS control unit doesn't actually code the brake type?
I found a YouTube video with an older version of VCDS (20.4.2), and it has a coding guide for this component. And no brake type is being coded.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dhktLJiyO8

Does anyone have any idea why this coding help isn't showing up in my VCDS (version 23.11.0)?

Hello,

It doesn't look good...

I would strongly advise against making this change, as the brake system will likely not perform ideally under extreme conditions, and there are no measures to check/certify the operation.

The ESP coding is a set of parameters for the engine, transmission, and brakes that should not be modified individually. The version he's looking for, as far as I know, wasn't available from the factory, which is why there's no way to unlock it.

I would strongly advise against making this modification, as the braking system is likely to not function optimally under extreme conditions, and there are no procedures in place for verifying or certifying its operation.

Best regards, Rainer.

Hello Rainer,

Thank you for your reply.

I thought the engine/transmission/brakes configuration would be available in the all-wheel-drive version of the B7.

Can you tell me why the coding help isn't being displayed? Is it due to the version?

Best regards,
Michael.

Hello,

The letters at the end of the VAG part number belong to the VAG part number. You have a different control unit, and I can't tell you whether it will behave the same way as the one in the Screenshot.

If a label file exists for the control unit, it is likely that the coding information is not available.

Best regards, Rainer.

Hello Rainer,

The file "3AA-614-109.clb" exists, and a device-specific single value is also displayed in the information box (+1024=TMPS active). Unfortunately, there is no more information available.

Can you determine the individual components that make up the code 0003513?

Greetings.
Michael.

After some searching, I would say my encoding is composed as follows:

CFGB engine with manual transmission = 0xB9 = +185
ABS = +256
TPMS = +1024
Start/Stop = +2048
Please provide the German text you would like me to translate into English.
Sum = 3513
