I'm just surprised that the pre-catalyst has a temperature of 700 degrees and the post-catalyst has a temperature of 200.

Something isn't right; it can't lose that much temperature on such a short path, less than 500 degrees.

"Without a load, the downstream catalytic converter temperature is significantly lower. However, if you accelerate for a period of time, it will also increase. During DPF regeneration, the downstream catalytic converter can even get hotter because soot is being burned inside the catalytic converter."

Yes, I drove up to 200 km/h. At that speed, the S1 temperature reached 700 degrees, while the S2 temperature remained consistently at 200 degrees.

Okay, that's strange. Does the reading seem accurate when the car is cold?

Yes, it's the same when the car is cold.

Hi there,

Given the risk of the DPF becoming overloaded, I wouldn't drive the engine for long right now, but rather read the necessary data.

Since we are not familiar with your diagnostic tool, screenshots would be more helpful than reading individual values. Can your tool generate a control unit image of the extended measurement data? If so, all the values listed below could be captured at once.

Here's a suggestion for a dataset related to the diesel particulate filter (DPF), ordered as it is provided by the engine control unit (ECU) upon ignition:
-(IDE00430) Diesel particulate filter: Field regeneration requirement status.
-(IDE00431) Diesel particulate filter: Field regeneration lock status.
-(IDE00432) Diesel particulate filter: Time since last regeneration.
-(IDE00434) Diesel particulate filter: Soot mass calculated.
-(IDE00435) Diesel particulate filter: Soot mass measured.
- (IDE00436) Particle filter: Kilometers since last regeneration.
-(IDE01407) Diesel particulate filter: Fuel consumption since last regeneration.
- (IDE04090) Exhaust gas temperature, bank 1.
-(IDE06059) Diesel particulate filter: Oil ash mass.
- (IDE06983-MAS05388) Diesel Exhaust Aftertreatment: Status of the DeNOx catalyst.
- (IDE06983-MAS05389) Diesel exhaust aftertreatment: Status of sulfur removal in the DeNOx catalyst.
-(IDE07380) NOx storage catalyst: Sulfur loading: Calculated value.
-(IDE07716) Particle filter inlet: Temperature sensor 1, bank 1: Raw value.
-(IDE07717) Particle filter inlet: Temperature sensor 1, bank 1: Raw value.
-(IDE07718) Diesel particulate filter outlet: Temperature sensor 1, bank 1: Raw value.
-(IDE07719) Diesel particulate filter outlet: Temperature sensor 1, bank 1: Raw value.
-(IDE07744) Diesel particulate filter: Differential pressure sensor 1 bank 1: Raw value.
-(IDE07745) Diesel particulate filter: Differential pressure sensor 1 bank 1: Adaptation value.
-(IDE07746) Diesel particulate filter: Differential pressure sensor 1 bank 1: Raw signal.
-(IDE07747) Diesel particulate filter: Differential pressure sensor bank 1 - offset.
-(IDE07748) Diesel particulate filter: Differential pressure sensor 1 bank 1: dynamic offset.

We use the IDE values to locate the measured value in the image.

I found the problem; it's the temperature sensor before the catalytic converter and DPF that is faulty.

Tell me a little more: Which specific sensor are you referring to? What readings were displayed? What's happening now?

That was the sensor above the timing belt cover; it showed me a difference of 500 degrees when I was under full load.

Okay, so Temp1 was at 700 degrees and Temp3 was at 200 degrees. Yesterday, I fiddled with the connector, and then the values jumped. However, the error memory was completely empty.

I've ordered a new one now, I'll install it and then initiate a single emergency regeneration cycle, and then drive it and compare the actual values.

I've now performed a forced regeneration, cleared the error codes, and it's running again.

THANK YOU for your help, regardless.
