I really need to get my timing belt replaced soon.
Can someone tell me which camshaft locking tool (Hazet part number) I need?
Does anyone perhaps have a drawing with dimensions?
And what else is special about it?
AVF is a direct injection engine, so you don't need a camshaft timing tool.
A 6mm drill bit for camshaft locking (for VW locating pin Matra 3359).
Then you will need a crankshaft locking tool (Matra t 10050) or a paint marker to mark the position of the crankshaft pulley.
The well-known two-hole tensioner.
If you have a 3B, A4, or A6, do you also need a two-hole drill for the fan blade?
I recommend replacing all the pulleys, including the tensioner pulley and the water pump.
Also, also replace the central bolt on the crankshaft (it's a stretch bolt and tends to loosen, which can cause engine damage).
If you need to know anything else, just ask.
(Please note: The conversion process takes approximately 2-3 hours for the specified models.)
...just for information: The Hazet set (i.e., all three tools) costs approximately 70 euros.
