Hello VipViper2000.
Here's the short version for this time of day.
The aforementioned solenoid valve controls the wastegate of the turbocharger.
Depending on the valve's duty cycle (the rapid switching between atmospheric and vacuum pressure), the actuator adjusts the guide vanes of the VTG turbocharger to increase or decrease boost pressure. When the exhaust system is installed, the turbocharger has more difficulty reaching the desired boost pressure for the specific operating condition. In response, the control unit increases the duty cycle of the solenoid valve until the boost pressure is correct.

Good morning!
Okay, that's not so easy! So, I'm going to go there today and have them check the exhaust gas recirculation system thoroughly. What I still don't know is: What does the abbreviation 'VTG' mean?
Best regards,

HI,
VTG = Variable Turbine Geometry.
There's also a technical article about it in this forum that explains the function in detail.

So, I just spoke with the mechanic, and he said he wants to have his 'diesel specialist,' who also installed the new injectors for me, take another look at my car next Tuesday. However, he can't just replace the dual-mass flywheel without a proper diagnosis, which is what I suspected.
Well, let's see how it goes.

Hi, could you please have the friendly technician check the idle speed control again?
I suspect that it is still not in good condition.
If that's the case, I suspect a faulty dual-mass flywheel.
There is also the possibility that the channels within the engine block have narrowed due to the EGR system.
However, the ZMS is more likely.
Also, please tell the friendly person to check the HST (Service Manual); they're sure to find what they need there.

Hi!
So, I told him about the exhaust gas recirculation system, and that's supposed to be checked on Tuesday. And the whole car should be checked again. As I said, let's see what happens.
The problem with the phrase 'I'm just guessing...' is that someone always has to be found to pay for it. If it really was due to the ZMS (presumably a component or system), then everything is fine. But if not, you have another problem. Well, I'll see what can be done. He is trying, after all; he already installed the new engine control unit for me completely free of charge.

Hi everyone!
In addition to the problem with the jerking, yesterday he did something for the first time: I start in first gear, release the clutch, and then I hear a short squealing/whistling sound. He does the same thing when I'm in first or second gear and I take my foot off the gas; then I hear a faint squealing/whistling. Please don't tell me it could be the turbo, because I'll have a panic attack.
Okay, so I just opened the hood and took a look. While doing that, I noticed that a semicircular plastic part had apparently fallen off and was just lying in the engine compartment. I have no idea where it goes. Here's a picture of what's on it:

Maybe someone among you can make sense of this. Above this number, there's something smaller: VW (The VW logo) 06 1311 / 088(I'm not sure about this part, it's hard to read) 103 165

This is just a material designation (polyamide, 10% fiberglass, etc.).

Ohh.. That's funny. Okay, fine. And what about the other number? But that doesn't really matter. They should do that on Tuesday.
