Reading out a VW Touran - problems

The K-line only connects to the engine (and possibly the automatic transmission). Older versions of VAG-COM are not compatible with the new EDC16 engine control unit, but current versions work perfectly. It is also true that the other systems can only be accessed via CAN.

What's incorrect is the statement that you need a VAS-505x for this. The latest beta version of VAG-COM can do everything. However, the interfaces for it are not yet available for purchase because we are currently waiting for manufacturers to produce them in sufficient quantities. These interfaces are a '+CAN' extension of the current HEX / 'Profi' interfaces and are therefore fully backward compatible with all older vehicles.

Complete VAG-COM diagnostic systems that are compatible with all vehicles based on the Golf 5 platform (Touran, new A3, Golf 5) as well as the new A8 should be available from next month. I cannot yet say how quickly they will be available through dealers (e.g., Rainer).

As a professional hacker, you would also need to be able to moderate here, such as locking and unlocking threads, etc.

Here's my suggestion for you: Remove the lock, copy your answer as a new post in Gremlin's thread, and then delete this thread.

Now, all that's missing is a lightweight version for the Palm. It's always such a hassle with the laptop just to make changes or adjustments to the code .

For new customers, our product costs $50 more than similar (intelligent) HEX interfaces. However, this price includes VAG-COM software in English only. I cannot estimate the prices at which German dealers will offer their similar products, or what upgrade offers they will provide to their existing customers.

Later this year, we are planning to release a 'CAN only' interface, which will be slightly more affordable. This is aimed at hobbyists who only have vehicles based on the Golf 5 platform and therefore do not need backward compatibility with older vehicles.
