Touran Light Fault (FLA, MDF) (Solution)

A friend recently bought a used Touran (it was just out of warranty and purchased from a private seller).
Problem: The vehicle constantly has its lights on. The installed FLA (Front Light Assistant) and the masked high beam do not function, and neither does the cornering light, turning light, or daytime running light.

The error code 01800, "light switch," is always present. Since the coding assistant in VCDS indicates everything appears to be okay (according to my understanding), it seemed more sensible to first investigate the source of the error rather than trying to correct it through coding.
