Well, I would definitely slap a TDI on that right away.
or even better, SDI.

Hi Ralf,

I already have a "1.4" ready. icon_cool.gif
It depends; when it gets warmer, it's easier to remove the lettering from the metal sheet.

icon_idea.gif SDI would also be quite good...

Okay, my 'old-grandpa-box'(tm) also had a 1.6D badge (which would have been the slowest engine option). Interestingly, it seems that BMW drivers pay attention to things like that, because when it still said '2.0i' on the back, I was bothered much less often when leaving the town... yeah, it's all in the mind icon_wink.gif.

btw: you must have a hairdryer, right?

...and then there's the most powerful of the 1.9 TDI engines!
...installed in the Ibiza Cupra.
...it also has 3 red letters!!
...for those who are interested, it has 118 kW and 160 hp, and the engine code is 'BPX'.

If you mean a loader by that: yes icon_lol.gif.

But one of the instruments never quite fits with the fake engine badges: the 260 speedometer for the SDI, or the 5000 RPM tachometer for the gasoline engine icon_cry.gif.

Hi,

For me, a "sporty car" with the typical Seat-style forced packaging and full equipment is only half a thing because the power-to-weight ratio becomes unnecessarily bad icon_evil.gif.

On the other hand, my Polo is definitely much more likely to be considered "not half a thing" icon_lol.gif.

The Ibiza, in my opinion, shouldn't be called a CUP-Racer, but something like COMIX, for COMfort-IXpress icon_twisted.gif, because it will still be fast (-> top speed) . . . icon_rolleyes.gif

@Gremlin: You're right.

P.S. I also got an SDI badge for my ASZ, maybe we should stick a silver question mark behind it icon_wink.gif.

That's right, but he sees the cloud and might hear the tractor, so SDI simply fits better icon_wink.gif.

Hi Ulf,

Quote:

If you're referring to a loader, then yes.

He's talking about a regular hair dryer... you can use it from a distance to soften the adhesive on the letters, which makes it easier to remove them, even in winter.

I'll probably do that soon, but then I won't be doing anything else.

Best regards,

Jan.

Oops icon_redface.gif icon_rolleyes.gif, I deliberately overlooked the most obvious thing...

However, just above 0°C, you can't lower the letters fast enough because the metal sheet cools down too quickly... so I'm waiting until the "real" spring.

But just above 0°C, you can't make the letters appear as quickly as the metal cools down... so I'm waiting until the 'real' spring.

For that, there's the FÖN.
A failed attempt can be adjusted continuously from 50° to 700° and also solves this problem icon_wink.gif.

... 700 degrees:
Well, I think ulf didn't want to permanently etch the letters into the paint, but just to remove them icon_biggrin.gif ...

He's right about letting it cool down; I once tried that myself when I had something glued inside. With a 1200W hairdryer, you can direct heat onto plastic inside for hours, let alone onto the cold metal exterior with its good heat conductivity. And with a more powerful hairdryer, he's getting closer to the problem I described earlier.

If the sun has pre-warmed the surface, it will definitely work much better. With my Golf III, it even worked without a hairdryer if you remove the adhesive residue with a little bit of gasoline.

no guarantee of accuracy:

V6 TDI:
Silver with 150 horsepower.
red i with 180 hp.
It should be the same for A4/A6 sizes.

No, on the Passat, the smaller one has a red 'i', while the larger one has everything in red.

Best regards,

Are you sure? The V6 TDI engines are usually marked specifically on the tailgate.
