Sorry , you have a variable loader. However, it is also electronically controlled.

Okay, so I installed an exhaust system from an S4 (twin-turbo gasoline engine) on my A4 V6 TDI Quattro.
It's compatible with KAT models and has a noticeably larger pipe diameter than the original system (connection diameter: 2*55mm instead of 2*50mm).
The ONLY change I could notice was that the sound coming from the exhaust pipe was a little bit duller, otherwise, nothing seemed to have changed.
Neither airflow nor power consumption, nor the noise level, or any other subjective or objective changes. Except, of course, for the appearance.
Even with the significantly larger exhaust system from the RS4 (connection diameter 2*60mm, intermediate pipe 80mm), there is no change. In fact, this exhaust system doesn't even produce any noticeable noise.
I think that if you keep the original manifolds and catalytic converters, you can't really go wrong.
 Stefan.

Okay, okay. If the exhaust system has less back pressure, then the turbocharger spins too fast, and it receives too much boost pressure? Is it not electronically controlled in your car anymore? (When the control unit opens, the exhaust gases bypass the turbocharger and go directly into the exhaust.) }
Na sicher wird der Ladedruck elektronisch geregelt ! VTG Loader.
The tuner, however, pointed out that the variable geometry turbocharger (VTG) also has limits to its adjustment range, and that exceeding these limits could lead to excessively high peak pressures.
I've already discussed all of this with Rainer.
I'm going to check the peak pressure again and then measure the set boost pressure.
I guess they should fit, though, since I've never had this problem before.
Problems occurred (emergency program).
Best regards,
Wuze.

Hello Rainer,
I've been following the topic of sports air filters again recently.
There are a lot of opinions on that.
If you'd like to try out an open sport air filter, feel free to do so.
And compare it to your other measurements.
I would be very happy to offer you my open-source JR cone filter, or rather, to lend it to you.
Because if that were the case, I would just send it to you by mail.
I would like to have it back afterwards, though.
What do you think about it?
Or are you already fed up with air filters?
Best regards, Mario.

Hi Mario,
Thank you for the offer, but at least in my A3, the air filter is not a performance-limiting component.
With a cone filter, you're more likely to have the problem of drawing in cold air. The A3 has a well-designed solution for this as standard: it has a duct that runs directly from the radiator grille to the airbox.
Best regards, Rainer.

Greetings, Rainer
You're very welcome!
'On my 4-cylinder engine, there's also a suction pipe running from the radiator all the way to the original air filter box. That's why I've put the original box back on with the original paper filter. Advantages: 1. Always cold air intake. 2. I believe it offers the best filtration performance by far. 3. It's much quieter than an open filter. Disadvantages: I haven't noticed any decrease in performance, which is often assumed.'
Okay, I'm in favor of paper filters, mainly because of their filtration performance and because they require no maintenance; you don't have to oil them.
Best regards,
Mario
