Clutch Housing Plugs & NW Adjustment PD

Hi!

Today, I adjusted the camshaft using Ulf's method. To do this, I had to read the top dead center (TDC) position on the flywheel.
I just noticed that there wasn't a cover on the casing to protect the balance wheel, which is why the teeth of the wheel are slightly rusted. I've already reordered the cover.

Could this cause problems now?

I also had the plug missing after the belt replacement at the 'friendly' (referring to a car dealership or repair shop).
It seems to be the 'norm' or 'custom.'

I didn't replace the stopper until about a year later. I haven't experienced any problems so far.

If the plug is missing for a long time, the rust on the gear ring can cause the starter motor to have increasing difficulty engaging, disengaging, and especially turning. Therefore, it's not ideal if the plug is missing, but if there haven't been any problems so far and a new plug is expected soon, it's likely that no problems will arise.

How much was the initial setting incorrect by?

If at all, do you notice any difference between before and after?

I'm interested because PDs are often said to have a lack of power at the top... maybe sloppy NW (Northwest) settings are a widespread problem?

It was misaligned by at least 3-4 degrees.

Subjectively, I experience more power in the higher RPM range, which is most noticeable on the highway. It achieves a top speed that is 5 km/h faster, which I consider to be quite a significant difference.
He also improved by approximately 0.4 seconds in the acceleration test.

Look at that... with Boeckler's and my engine, it was practically the same.
It's becoming increasingly unlikely, in my opinion, that these are just isolated incidents.
