Hello everyone!
As you can see, I'm new here!
Yesterday, I browsed through the posts in the car forum as a guest and repeatedly came across statements saying that this problem is not known to occur in the Audi A3.
Audi A3, 1.9L engine, 90 horsepower, manufactured in 1997.
The engine reaches 100 degrees Celsius and the warning sound goes off: coolant level is okay, thermostat has already been replaced. So, the problem is the water pump!! In this engine type, the impeller of the water pump is made of plastic and can detach from the shaft! My tip: Since the timing belt needs to be replaced at 60,000 km for this model, have the water pump checked at the same time. Otherwise, you might end up in a situation like mine, where you'll have the same amount of work at 70,000 km as you would with just replacing the timing belt, and that will be expensive!
Best regards,
