Great fun!
The orange plastic handle of the oil dipstick in my T4 has, at a mileage of 105,000 km, worn through one of the aluminum lines of the air conditioning system. This, of course, resulted in refrigerant leaking out. It wouldn't be so bad if it had been noticed earlier. However, the system was only used infrequently, and the problem has only become noticeable now. Specifically, the compressor in the front of the vehicle has started making unusual noises.
'The friendly Skoda repair shop diagnosed: Debris and wear from the lines have entered the system and destroyed the compressor! The cost, including new filters, etc., is 1500 euros! Let's see what VW says if we consider this a design flaw.'
Has anyone else experienced the same problem? I'm curious to know how VW handles such issues with a vehicle that's 3.5 years old!
Okay, and please check your T4s. It's already happened to a friend of mine.
